Capacity is measured in kilowatts, and it comes down to the room's floor area, ceiling height, insulation, window size and which way it faces. As a rough guide a small bedroom needs around 2.5 kW and a large open-plan living area can need 7 kW or more, but an undersized unit runs flat out and an oversized one short-cycles. We measure and size it properly on-site.
A straightforward back-to-back install (indoor and outdoor unit on either side of the same wall) takes three to four hours. Most installs are finished within half a day; longer pipe runs, wall brackets or roof mounting can take a little longer.
As close to the indoor unit as practical, on a solid wall bracket or condenser feet, with clear airflow around it and away from bedroom windows and your neighbours. We'll recommend the best spot for performance, noise and looks, and we tidy the pipework in a cover so it doesn't stand out.
Yes. A multi-split system runs two to five indoor units from a single outdoor unit, which is ideal when you want several rooms conditioned but don't have the space or the budget for ducted. We install multi-split systems from all six of the brands we carry.
